Tildy’s Trust donated £50,000 towards the creation of four new isolation rooms for teenagers undergoing chemotherapy at the Hascombe ward, Royal Surrey Hospital. Over the two-and-a-half years of treatment, Tildy spent a lot of time in the Hascombe ward when she suffered from infections (a constant problem when your immune system is suppressed). In fact, she even wrote a list of useful things that should be in the new rooms.
We are delighted that Tildy’s Trust made a major contribution to the opening of the new rooms. To see why Simon was keen to help, watch his interview on YouTube.
